Welcome to the July Love Loughborough Newsletter

As we head into July, we’re busy working on new campaigns to support our day time and night time businesses as well as social media workshops and new funding opportunities. Love Loughborough Gardeners' Fair

Sunday 6^th July sees the return of the Love Loughborough Gardeners’ Fair which continues to grow in popularity month on month. At this month’s event we’ll be launching the summer family trail and this year’s theme is dinosaurs! 22 businesses have signed up to be involved in the trail and they’ll be decorating their windows and displaying dinosaurs for families to discover as part of the trail which will run until Monday 25^th August. Participating businesses will have competition forms in store for families to pick up or they can download and complete the trail on the Love Loughborough App. The summer trail will be promoted with posters in the town and through our social media channels.

Night Time Economy

This summer we’re running a themed social media campaign to promote the night time offer in the town centre. It started in June with inspiration on best beer gardens in Loughborough and great cocktail venues and will continue throughout the summer with themes including best places to watch sports, karaoke, live music, quizzes and eat and drink venues. We will be holding a night time economy meeting between 2pm-4pm on Tuesday 5^th August at S.O.A.K. Cocktail Co, 1 Clay Pipe Jitty, off Swan Street, Loughborough when we will provide an update on campaigns and future activity. Night Time Economy

Leicestershire Grassroots Food Plan is working with academics from Nottingham University on a new research project which will challenge existing policies and approaches to the local food system. They are looking for a range of stakeholders within the Leicestershire food system including artisan food and drink producers, retailers, social supermarkets, and local authorities to take part in a short online interview. The new security team have proved to be a great success with local retailers and businesses. They are changing their working hours over the next few weeks, you’ll find them in the town centre on these days:

We have been working hard to initiate campaigns to tackle retail crime and anti-social behaviour, the new security team being a 12 month campaign achievable through a successful UKSPF Fund grant. We are delighted to announce that we have also been successful securing 2 further grants, one to provide patrols on a Friday & Saturday evening to support our night time economy, and one to provide a supply of Body Worn Camera’s to targeted businesses for a FREE 12 month trail. Details to follow later this week but please contact the team for further information.

Finally, there’s a couple of other dates for your diary:

We’re holding a Love Loughborough summer soiree with Like Minded Media at The Corner House between 5.30pm – 8pm on Wednesday 9^th July. This is a great opportunity to fine tune your social media skills, especially in video and reels using Instagram and TikTok. Please let us know ASAP if you’d like to join us. This is a FREE event for Loughborough businesses.

The next Shop Watch meeting will be held between 9-10am on Wednesday 23^rd July at John Storer House. We will be discussing correct protocols over the radio, benefits for your business and a Q&A from the new security team. To reserve a FREE space please RSVP at manager@loughboroughbid.co.uk
